Villa Helios[/b] is a newly built villa in Maleme, West Crete. The villa has its own pool and 3 bedrooms to accommodate up to 6 persons + 1 sleeping on sofa. The villa has 118 m2 of very comfortable living space, is double glazed throughout and incorporates mosquito screens for the clients comfort. The ground floor consists of an entrance hall, which leads into a spacious open plan sitting/dinning room tastefully furnished with comfortable sofas, dinning room furniture and a very well equipped kitchen having a full size cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, electric kettle, coffee maker and a toaster. On this floor there is a bedroom with 2 single beds and a bathroom with shower, WC and a wash basin. A staircase leads to the first floor with 2 bedrooms, one of which has a double bed and the other two single beds, a good sized bathroom, WC and a wash basin. The bedrooms open on to balconies with see views in both directions, while the windows at the rear of the bedrooms have views towards the impressive "white mountains". Tiled cool floors are complemented by beautiful wooden ceilings throughout the property. For the complete relaxation and comfort of the clients the villas are throughout equipped with air/conditioning (cooling + heat for the cooler months), satellite TV, washing machine, dishwasher and a telephone. The villa is surrounded by a stone wall. Within the garden and on the front of the villa there is a 38 m2 swimming pool, having adequate sun lounges, umbrellas and a dinning place. The gardens are beautifully laid out and have a grill for barbeque. There is a covered car parking place. The area is very well catered for by many kind of water sports, fishing, snorkelling, diving, Paragliding, mountain biking and horse riding. There are supermarkets, taverns, cafes, a physician and a pharmacy within walking distance. Maleme is a historical village on the sea of the northern side of west Crete with approx. 800 inhabitants. It is built in the greenest region of Crete on small hills, between the small rivers Tavronitis and Geranis, surrounded by olive trees, orange trees and vineyards. From its hills one can enjoy the beautiful sea together with the majestic view to the 2500 metres high "white mountains". In the region ancient findings of the Minoan period have been found. They can be seen in the archeological museum of Chania, the main city of the prefecture Chania, 17 km far from Maleme. Maleme is known in the history from the famous "Battle of Crete", after the landing of the German parachutists next to the airport of Maleme on May 21st, 1941 in order to occupy the island. There is a German cemetery in Maleme, where 4465 German soldiers are buried. Near Maleme there are some beautiful beaches (Falasarna, one of the most beautiful beaches of Greece) and a lot of interesting places for daily excursions.
